The Flagship NMI Rear Impact Protection Seat offers ultimate safety for the wheelchair passenger and versatility for the vehicle operator.

The RKR offers a one-piece wheelchair station that doubles as a seat. This unique and innovative design facilitates the safe transportation of clients with the minimum disruption of seating capacity.

The RKR is a dedicated wheelchair station that cleverly slides on a base plate to accommodate the maximum number of wheelchair types and neatly rotates to store against the vehicle wall, giving the optimum aisle clearance needed to bring the wheelchair client between seating. The RKR has the added bonus of rotating to 3 positions as an M1 in vehicle tested seat. See Instructions.

The RKR is also compatible for the safe securment of the C Max Stairclimber from AAT. What does this mean?
Well, if a patient is upstairs in their bedroom for example – they can be transferred into the stairclimber, brought onto the vehicle and then safely anchored to the NMI RKR without being transferred into another seat. This greatly improves manual handling and negates the need for additional room in the vehicle to store the stairclimber when not being used.

All RKR come with the extending back as standard, to accommodate a wider number of wheelchairs - in particular electric wheelchairs. It has been recognised that in some instances there is a requirement for armrests to be used. Armrests can be purchased for retrofitting onto existing units or alternatively must be specified when placing an order.

All Extending backs are fitted with NMI’s unique 3 point belt arrangement which ensures that the lap belt sits in the correct position across the pelvic bone – irrespective of the wheelchair type.

As an optional extra NMI offer a padded buffer that can be fitted on the rear of the RKR frame for added security. This must be specified when placing an order.
